Valentine’s Pizza & Deli

Valentines Pizza Deli Skaneateles

Every village needs a Valentine’s. The kind of place that’s been feeding locals and visitors alike for decades. Where the pizza is reliably great, the sandwiches are stuffed generously, and nobody’s trying to be anything other than exactly what they are — a really good neighbourhood pizzeria and deli.

Valentine’s has been a Skaneateles staple since 1988. Brothers Patrick and Jim founded it, and Tom — who joined the team as a high school senior back in 1998 — eventually made it his own family business. That continuity shows. As a result, this is a place with deep roots in the community. The team sponsors local sports teams, sources ingredients from local farmers where possible, and genuinely treats customers like neighbours.

The pizza is the main event. The kitchen hand-tosses every base, loads on the cheese, and offers by the slice or as a whole pie with whatever toppings you can dream up. The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger pizza has its fans. The classic pepperoni never disappoints. Furthermore, the motto “you dream it, we love to make it” is taken seriously here.

But don’t overlook the deli side of things. The subs, sandwiches, and wraps have developed a serious following of their own. Think fresh bread, quality ingredients, and portions that mean business. The smoked turkey with bacon, avocado, and chipotle is particularly worth trying.

Valentine’s sits right on West Genesee Street in the heart of the village. It’s therefore the perfect pitstop after a walk along the lake or a browse through the shops. Grab a slice to go and take it across to the park, or settle into one of the booths for a proper sit-down lunch.

They’re open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm, at 18 West Genesee Street. Delivery is available too.
