Skaneateles Farmers Market

There’s something deeply satisfying about starting a Saturday morning at a good farmers market. And in Skaneateles, the setting alone makes it worth getting out of bed. The market runs at the Austin Park Pavilion parking lot — right in the heart of the village, a short stroll from the lake — and it draws a loyal crowd of locals and visitors from the moment it opens.

The market runs twice a week from late May through October. Saturdays run from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Thursdays offer an afternoon option from 3pm to 6pm. Both days bring a solid roster of local vendors. Find them at 1 East Austin Street, Austin Park Pavilion Parking Lot.

Local Produce, Local People

As the season progresses, the range expands. Summer squash and sweet onions give way to heirloom tomatoes and peppers in August. Then hard squash, potatoes, and autumn produce arrive as October approaches. Along the way you’ll also find meats, eggs, dairy, honey, flowers, garden plants, baked goods, and personal care products — all from local producers.

It’s a small market by city standards. But that’s also part of the appeal. The vendors know their regulars. The conversation flows. And the quality of what’s on offer reflects the genuine agricultural richness of the Finger Lakes region. Furthermore, the Thursday afternoon session has a particularly relaxed, community feel — less rushed than the Saturday morning crowd and well worth timing a visit around if you can.

Find it at 1 East Austin Street, Austin Park Pavilion Parking Lot, Skaneateles. Thursdays 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays 9:30am to 12:30pm, from late May through October.
